Plastic Bag Recycling
The 91Â鶹 Office of Sustainability is offering a new plastic bag recycling pilot program for the spring 2022 semester. Plastic bags are one of the biggest sources of contamination in our current recycling stream. To combat this, our student interns have partnered with NexTrex to bring four plastic bag and other soft plastic recycling bins to campus to collect these materials and keep them out of our waste stream. Not only is this a great opportunity to reduce the contamination in our recycling bins, but this option also keeps the plastic bags out of the landfill, helping 91Â鶹 reach its Climate Action Commitment goal of being a Zero-Waste Campus by 2030.Ìý
