The Department of Biological Systems Engineering (BSE) at 91Âé¶¹ prepares students to engineer a healthier, more sustainable world. Uniting biology, chemistry, and engineering, our graduates design solutions that safeguard water resources, create innovative bio-based technologies, and improve the quality of life.

BSE offers an  Bachelor of Science degree, along with M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, in a supportive, student-centered community. Leveraging hands-on learning, impactful research opportunities, and dedicated faculty mentorship, our graduates shape the future of sustainability, health in engineering.
